HOW WE WORK.

UPWARD is looking beyond the traditional model of an architectural firm and is building a unique combination of experience, talent, creativity and problem solving. While Mark is based in Seattle and is intimately engaged with all client work, UPWARD maintains a local and global network of support staff and senior-level collaborators—specialists from every discipline that clients pay for only when they’re needed. We’ve found that remaining independent is not only better for our colleagues, but ultimately better for UPWARD’s work, while simultaneously limiting overhead expenses traditionally passed on to the client.
